Permanent Hair Removal Tips

Now that spring has well and truly sprung, are you starting to think about getting out in the garden and doing some maintenance work? It’s time to tackle your garden bushes and rid your lawn of all those pesky weeds.

Why should you treat yourself any less lovingly? Spring is the perfect time of year to start thinking about creating the best version of you – and what better way of planning for a stress-free summer than with pain-free, effective and long-lasting hair removal?

Just as we would get right to the root of the problem with our garden weeds, unwanted bodily hair is best treated by destroying the hair at its root – the individual hair follicles.

At City Retreat, we use Sirius by Ellipse to tackle unwanted bodily hair. It’s fully approved by the NHS and is pain-free, effective and super-fast.

Allow us to tell you a little bit more about how Sirius can give you smooth, hair-free skin.

It might look a little bit like an ultrasound machine when you first enter one of our luxurious treatment rooms, but Sirius is the answer to all your hair-related stresses.

It uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to destroy each individual hair right at the root, preventing regrowth on a long-term basis, sometimes permanently. There’s more information on how IPL works here.

It’s pain-free and completely safe – what’s not to love?

Is IPL hair removal permanent?

There are many factors which will affect whether your hair removal with Sirius is permanent or long-term, but we would recommend between six to eight treatments to gain the most from your hair removal.

Every hair has a life cycle. Your hair grows for a while, falls out, rests and then starts to grow again. Everyone’s hair life cycle is slightly different, hence the numerous treatments, but in our experience, Sirius is the most effective system of hair removal we’ve found. Only hairs that are growing can be treated – so you need to repeat the treatment at intervals until all hair follicles have been targeted while growing.

How long should I wait between treatments?

Factors such as where on your body you’d like to treat, age and hormone levels will affect the life cycle of your hair, but we generally advise you to wait 4-8 weeks between treatments to ensure all hair has been treated in the growing phase.
